Mikey O'Malley, a passionate producer and engineer from Long Island, NY, embarked on his music production journey in early 2019. Although initially pursuing a bachelor's degree in History at Hofstra University, his true calling became evident when he added an additional major in Audio Production to his studies.

As an active member of two of Hofstra's on-campus a cappella groups, The Hofbeats and The Dutchmen, Mikey recognized the opportunity to further enrich his studies through extracurricular music production. By engaging in hands-on experiences with these groups, Mikey gained valuable practical knowledge and honed his skills in producing music beyond the classroom setting. This additional involvement allowed him to apply and refine his music production techniques in a real-world context, contributing to the success and growth of both a cappella groups.

During his time at Hofstra, Mikey achieved a significant milestone with "Paint It, Black," a single he produced for The Hofbeats. The track propelled the group to new heights in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella. The Hofbeats made history by achieving an impressive 3rd place in the Northeast Semifinals, their highest position ever in the competition. Mikey's contributions were duly recognized, earning him the "Outstanding Mix" award.

The success of "Paint It, Black" continued as it was later released as a three-song EP, earning three runner-up awards in the 2022 Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards. Mikey also played a key role as a recording engineer and producer for two other The Hofbeats award nominations.

In January 2022, Mikey pursued a Master's Degree in Music Production and Engineering at Berklee College of Music, expanding his expertise in the field. While studying at Berklee, Mikey concurrently produced multiple singles and an EP for his alternative rock band, Nostalgia. With exemplary dedication, Mikey graduated from Berklee in April 2023 with a 4.00 GPA.

Since graduating, Mikey has continued to contribute his skills and knowledge to the music industry. He has worked as an engineer and producer for the a cappella company Ena Vox, while also taking on various projects, including mastering work for independent film scores. Mikey's versatile approach and commitment to his craft have made him a sought-after professional in the field.
